The Kingsport Farmers Market will open for the 2024 season on April 27 – and will debut as a freshly renovated space for both vendors and visitors to enjoy.
The Kingsport Farmers Market will be open on Saturdays through the end of November and on Wednesdays beginning May 1 through the end of September. The hours are from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until produce and products are sold out.
Each week, expect to find fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, local meats, artisan crafts, fresh flowers and more at the Kingsport Farmers Market.
Opening day events and activities include:
-Free carousel rides from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
-Free reusable, canvas tote bags for kids to decorate.
-The Dobyns-Bennett agriculture class with be transplanting tomato seedlings with kids while supplies last.
-Live “old time” music starting at 8:30 a.m. by the Corklickers of Banner Elk, N.C.

Forge your own small knife and learn about blacksmithing along the way!
This is a required pre-req for advanced classes to come!
In this class we will cover forging out a small, simple, all-steel knife along with some blacksmithing history, tooling information, and other basic concepts. Once the forging is complete, we will heat treat the knives and then grind to an edge. Students will then be able to take their finished knives home for a final temper in a home oven.
Age 16+ (Under 18 MUST be accompanied by a guardian)
Please wear cotton or non synthetic clothes that you don’t mind getting very dirty, full-length pants, and close-toed shoes.
Brenden Bohannon is a full-time blacksmith, bladesmith, and lifelong artist hailing from Johnson City Tennessee. The opportunity to appear on the History Channel’s “Forged in Fire” led Brenden to become a full-time teaching Smith. He focuses on iron age designs and functional pieces that will last a lifetime.

Students will learn about RESIN and create 9 of their own unique, hand-crafted gifts!
Instructor, Elena Corradino will be teaching a hands-on class about how to use this exciting and trending art medium! Learn techniques to create your own abstract Resin Coasters… Students will create 9 beautiful and functional pieces of art – perfect for giving!
Each student will make different kinds of coasters, including alcohol ink coasters and resin mold coasters, and will leave being able to use resin safely on their own.
The instructor will go over safe mixing techniques and mistakes that can cost resin. The cost of the class is $98 per person and includes all materials. Participants will also be allowed to keep their respiratory mask and silicone mold.

This 40-minute immersive yoga and meditation program will take place in Bay’s Mountain’s one-of-a-kind planetarium. From dawn to dusk, the planetarium will simulate a day’s journey while we do standing

This 40-minute immersive yoga and meditation program will take place in Bay’s Mountain’s one-of-a-kind planetarium. From dawn to dusk, the planetarium will simulate a day’s journey while we do standing yoga poses. Students will be encouraged to work briefly on their strength, flexibility and balance (15-20 minutes). The remaining 20 minutes will involve light stretching and guided meditation with a short twilight (5 minutes) to starry night (15 minutes). This class is designed for those with lower mobility or for those who will simply enjoy more restful and reflective opportunities. Class size is limited, so please sign up soon. Please also wear exercise clothing and bring water with a sealable lid. No mat is required.
The planetarium theater door will open ~10 minutes prior to start.
