The Kingsport Art Guild is launching the first of its free monthly “Second Sunday Art Series” designed to bring a diversified set of topics and artists to the Kingsport Art Community. The first meeting will be conducted by JoAnne McDonough and will be an interactive, experiential class on assessing where a person is and where they may be going with their artistic growth. McDonough won Best in Show at the 2012 juried Appalachian Art Show and was also juried into the 2012 Virginia Highlands Festival. She is an accomplished painter and instructor and currently serving as vice president of the Art Guild. The workshop is designed to allow participants to have fun, get to know others and find out how the Kingsport Art Guild can help them in their artistic growth. Participants should come with an open mind and be prepared to get a bit messy. These sessions are geared toward adults in all skill levels. The Kingsport Art Guild may be found online at www.kingsportartguild.com . The Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts encourages you to get engaged in the arts! www.EngageKingsport.com
