Gibson Mill Road detour to impact for next few months

KINGSPORT – Ongoing work to complete the new Gibson Mill Road and connections to Holston Valley Medical Center will require a detour that will go into effect Monday, March 8, with the detour beginning at Gibson Street and onto Mill Street, where traffic will merge back onto Gibson Mill Road. Motorists must use extreme caution when navigating the detour, as they will be encountering narrow neighborhood streets with on-street parking. Whenever possible, the road will be reopened during nighttime hours, with the entire project to be completed during summer.
