Kingsport, TN, August 21, 2012 - The Grainger Foundation has donated $10,000 to the Kingsport Chamber Foundation in support of its S.H.O.U.T.!® Youth Leadership – Students Helping Others Understand Tomorrow program.
“This grant will be used to provide food, program expenses and transportation, and to ensure the program continues to be held in the highest regard among participants, parents, and schools,” said Vickie Snodgrass, Director of Kingsport Leadership Programs. “We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.”
Vickie Snodgrass said, “These programs currently serve 80 participants each summer. We host one session in June and another in July. Our participants come from all area high schools, including DB, South, North, East, Volunteer, Central, Home Schooled, Gate City, and Daniel Boone.”
This donation was recommended by Randy Sexton, Branch Manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s, Johnson City location. Grainger has been a part of the Tri Cities business community for more than 60 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by the Kingsport Chamber Foundation,” said Sexton. “We understand the need for youth leadership in the local community.”
