The City of Kingsport puts a special emphasis on the public arts. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen of Kingsport created the Kingsport Public Art Committee in 2006 to help improve the image of Kingsport and to promote the Arts to the people of the area. Since its creation, the committee has erected many public sculptures and other various works of public art for the enjoyment of the citizens of Kingsport and visitors of our fine city. The Kingsport Art Guild and the Arts Council of Greater Kingsport are both located in the Renaissance Center is located at 1200 East Center Street in Kingsport. Also in the Renaissance Center are art exhibits, demonstrating the importance and history of Art in Kingsport.
